This was incredibly helpful for me when trying to understand how to make my own game. It's so simple and yet VERY effective - how do you get people to imagine? Thank you so much for sharing this.

Thank you for enjoying it! :D

Dear yenofven, I made a Notion template so people can play your RPG and have a logbook directly at hand. Please tell me, if this is okay for you or if I should delete it: https://melaeckenfels.notion.site/5-min-e-solo-RPG-2bbd72639a984e1ca3ac12d117c0c...

Mela, this is beautiful! Thank you for making this. I would love to add the link to the main description if that's alright with you.

Absolutely. Thank you!
I also made a German translation: https://www.notion.so/templates/5-min-e-solo-rpg-deutsch

Really fun writing exercise!

just an excellent piece of game writing, especially: "you are an adventurer. you LIVE FOR THIS SHIT."

I love this so much! Is it ok if I translate it in Italian?

I'm so glad you like it-- yes, you'd be welcome to translate it into Italian :)

here it is! https://enui.itch.io/5-min-e-in-italiano

This is such a fun game! I played it because my group couldn’t meet and it was a lot of fun. I loved all the different possibilities for character creation and story telling and it is all done in a streamlined and easy way. I keep going back to the game to play when I need to play something quick and it has been great each time. This micro rpg is a gem!

I've played this twice now and I really like it! It's such a simple, easy to use system that leaves a lot of room for creativity, and the type of prompts give lends to really good storytelling. It's also just super fun and convenient to pick up and play for a few minutes.

I actually really enjoy the time constraint and letting it dictate my writing. It adds a sense of urgency and eliminates overthinking and it's just (chef's kiss). Perfect for the adventurer who doesn't always have time or energy to play longer games.

Thank you for the high praise! :D I hope that you continue to enjoy little moments of creativity with this little game as a tool. :) I also find myself returning to it in the ~pandemic times~ when getting a game together with other humans is difficult and draining. Always glad to hear that other folks enjoy it the same way I do.

THANK YOU for this game !!! Great and inspiring.

Here's my log (dice: a mage from the seaside / haunted / a pack of rabid beasts / I leave the battle with more strength than before / hunger I have to find diner)

"I was so sure about myself, my capacity to swim, my body, swift and aquatic.

It was such a long time since my last crossing, a foolish errand that costed F's death.

I knew that I would, some day, have to cope with that memory.  And here I am, onto the sand, exhausted.

I had met them, all of them, those from the Sharkhood. And it was all I could do to outswim them.

Swifter, more muscular, they were too damned fit for the ocean. I was only a Sherene, a stupid see mage.

What makes them sick and violent is still unclear to me.  But as soon as I reached the surface, I sang, and they all obeyed.

And here I am now, stronger than ever, all of them my allies.

Are they cured? I don’t think so.

Are they useful?

Let’s check it right away : 'I’m hungry. Starfish would be great'."

Thank you for enjoying the game and for sharing your log - it's so wonderful! I adore how much you ran with the ocean/seaside theme. Go use that inspiration and continue to make wonderful things! :)

This is amazing! Thank you for your work.

Wow. Really cool. I like quick games but before writing I was thinking "5 min... it will be too long." But, as I watched the five minutes go by, I thought "No, I have to write faster!"

So here is the logbook of my sweet druid (with dice results in bold)

Logbook. Druid from the forest. Amorous.
This helly mage was here. Again. They're still so much powerful. They're now gone but I'm so tired. My body hurts.
They come in the forest each month. I still don't know why.
But I like them. A lot. Maybe too much.
I don't know what to think about these feelings.
Because, I like the way we fight each other.
It's like a battle but... often at a distance. I set traps. They cast spells to detect them.
Most of the time, we don't even meet. We fight across the forest.
But I'm getting older each year.
And it's like they're getting younger, becoming faster and more powerful...
I'm afraid the day will come when I won't be able to fight like this anymore.
I like this kind of battle.
But their magic is affecting me. I like not being alone once a month.
More often, it would be unbearable. Less often, too.
Once a month is perfect. As long as I'm able to continue to
[The danger returns. I can hear them]

Thanks for this cool writing game. 5 minutes is just perfect! I guess this game needs some variants (without conflicts/battle; maybe with some sorts of "daily ordinary quests)

Take care ♥

Wow, thank you for your kind words, and for sharing your work! Seeing what people are making with the game has been so exciting! And I'm glad that you found the time allowed surprising --  I'm always happy to share that weird, wild, "creative writing time passes separately from normal time" feeling. : )

I'll keep 5-min-e on my phone. It's excellent for taking short breaks and have this feeling you describe ☺ I'd like to translate it into French, do you agree?

That would be amazing !
